The
Polkaholics play a high-speed mix of polka and rock and roll,
creating a sound that is simultaneously new and old. Using
a rock-trio format of guitar/bass/drums to power their polka,
The Polkaholics have something for everyone. Some love the
punk rock’n’roll sound of the band, while others appreciate
the band’s mission to keep polka alive and vital in today's
music scene. Playing old favorites like "Beer Barrel
Polka" and "Chicken Dance," or new upstarts like
"Polkas on Guitar" and "Wild & Crazy Polka
Fans," The Polkaholics repertoire is filled with songs that
are fun, Fun, FUN! Throw in their glittery outfits (or
lederhosen during Oktoberfest season) and wild showmanship, and
you've got a band that is intent on Entertaining, with a capital
E, and creating the "life of the party" atmosphere at
each and every show.
The
trio, which began in 1997, features Dandy Don Hedeker on guitar
and vocals, Jolly James Wallace on bass and vocals, and Stylin’
Steve Glover on drums and vocals. Through the years, the band
has played numerous clubs, street fests, weddings, and events of
all types. The websites www.thepolkaholics.com
and www.myspace.com/thepolkaholics
have several MP3s of their songs and further information on the
band. For inquiries, contact Dandy Don directly at the above
phone number or via email at polkaholics@gmail.com
